And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, [“Abraham believed God, and it was] [accounted to him for righteousness.”]And he was called the friend of God. James 2:23 (NKJV)
This Scripture is so clear – a friend of God is the one who believes Him. Isn’t it the same among men, your friend is that one who believes you? Without faith it is impossible to please God. Hebrews 11:6. It is impossible to be God’s friend, companion, or confidant without faith or believing Him. We believe or have faith in God by hearing and doing what He says to us. When God asked Abraham to offer to Him his son Isaac he did not hesitate but went ahead to do it. God stopped him in the act but it was as good as he had done it. Jesus told us that we are His friends if we do whatever He commands us. John 15:14.
What has God spoken to you – in His written Word and in your heart? Believing Him and acting on what He has said is what shows you’re God’s friend.
