What fills the heart determines its state. We fill our hearts with what we hear, see, think about or say.When we’re hearing, seeing, thinking, and talking about the great and awesome God and what He has done and is doing our heart is filled with awe, the awareness of how great and wonderful He is. Then we respond in praise.When all we are looking at and dwelling on is what’s not working, what’s gone wrong, or what’s missing then our hearts are in “not working” “gone wrong” and “missing” mode. They are in despair. Then all we do is grumble, murmur, and be negative and frustrated.A confident heart is born of a God focused attitude, it’s made of dwelling on the good, and great things God has done and is doing. Therefore, this kind of heart is always praising God.It’s not that you’re not confident enough, it’s that you’re dwelling on what’s discouraging and breeds uncertainty. Switch to praise as you fix your attention to the good and great God who does good and great things. This is the confident heart.
