But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9(AMPC)
When Jesus died there’s an old race that died and became extinct, when He arose from the dead a new race was born and established.
The old race was that of Adam the one who sinned and fell short of all that God is and has. Because all of humanity was in Adam, for we all came from him, we all were a part of that old race that’s enslaved to sin, condemnation, the curse, sickness, poverty, failure, limitation and death.
But thank God who sent His Son who came as a flesh and blood man like us, and as the last Adam He brought to closure, terminated, and discarded that old Adamic race when on the Cross He died the death of all of us.
Then when He rose from the dead He brought forth and established a New race – the new man race, the Godman race, the Christ race. This new race is God in us and us in Him. Scripture calls it Christ in us and us in Christ.
Christ is in us, He’s our identity Colossians 1:27 (NKJV) To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
We are in Christ, we are defined in Him. 1 Corinthians 1:30 (NKJV) But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption.
This new race is righteous, holy, blessed, favored, healed, restful, healthy, glorious, wealthy, and triumphant. This chosen race reigns in life and lives forever. This is who we are in Christ. In this new chosen race the old outward descriptions of ethnicity, gender, religion, social or economic status do not apply. In other words we are not identified or accepted by God based on these classifications. We are all equally identified and accepted by God in Christ. Choose to take on life from your true identity and status as God’s chosen race. Conduct yourself as one in Christ. Walk as one in whom Christ dwells.
