The opening of the eyes to see truth is understanding. It is right interpretation of what you hear or see.In the parable of the sower the seed that fell by the wayside and the birds ate them refer to the people who hear the Word and do not understand it and immediately the devil steals the Word from them. Matthew 13:19.This means the Word never profits them.One man had been reading a passage about Salvation but it wasn’t until he got someone to help him get understanding that he received Salvation – Acts 8:26-39 We can only act on and benefit from what we have understood.The most important response and exercise when the Word is being preached and taught is not the spectator excitement and drama. It’s paying attention to and pondering what’s said to gain understanding.Hear, read, study, memorize and meditate on the Word of God with the purpose of getting understanding out of it.Thank God for and yield to the Spirit of understanding as you get into the Word. Ephesians 1:18(NKJV). Then you will be able to apply the Word in all your affairs and it will profit you.
