Proverbs 2:21 (NKJV) For the upright will dwell in the land, And the blameless will remain in it.
The upright or the blameless are the righteous. Is it possible to be upright, blameless? In our own strength, wisdom, will power, and determination we can never attain to God’s standard of blamelessness or uprightness. We cannot be blameless or upright in our best good deeds or by keeping the law. But thanks to God who has freely offered to us the free gift of Righteousness through Jesus Christ.
All of us humans sinned and we all fall short of God’s upright standard. Romans 3:23.
But God, in His Grace, declares us upright. He did this through Christ Jesus when on the Cross He set us free from the power and penalty for our sins. Romans 3:24.
Jesus is God’s Sacrifice for all our sin. We are made upright before God believing that Jesus laid down His Life shedding His Blood for us. Romans 3:25.
The upright or blameless then are each and every one who has believed in Jesus Christ, in His Sacrifice for sin on the Cross.
These are they that dwell in the land.
