But I’m worshiping you, GOD, calling out in thanksgiving! And I’ll do what I promised I’d do! Salvation belongs to GOD!” Jonah 2:9 (MSG)
We worship God as we bring forth His worth. Worship is expressing God’s worth- ship. He’s worthy of all the glory honor, power and majesty.
All things good are from Him, and are sustained by Him.
Therefore thanksgiving is one of the ways we worship God.
Our Scripture text is taken from Jonah the Old Testament prophet who found himself in big trouble for rebelling against God’s instructions which was very unworshipful.
He ended up in a storm in the belly of a fish out at sea. But when Jonah worshipped God with thanksgiving, God spoke to the fish and it vomited him. Jonah 2:10.
It may not be that you’re in rebellion like Jonah but wherever you’re, whether things going well for you or in trouble needing help, worship God in thanksgiving and see His power displayed on your behalf as everything and everyone around you obeys and turns around at His command to your benefit.
