[Let] the high praises of God [be] in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand, Psalms 149:6 (NKJV)
In the realm of the spirit praise in our mouth is a double edged sword in our hand.
In ancient times one of the most powerful and effective weapon was the sword. Now most swords were sharpened and would cut only one side just like our knives today. But there was a type of sword that was sharpened and cut both sides called the two or double edged sword.
This one was the most powerful and dangerous as it would effect double impact whichever way you wielded, swung, or thrust it.
Just as the two edged sword was a powerful weapon in the hand of a warrior so is praise right now in our mouth as believers.
In praise we declare the presence, power, and provision, of the Lord God of hosts.
In the spirit realm this is exactly wielding, swinging, and thrusting the powerful two-edged sword of the Spirit cutting through and dividing asunder and destroying all the works, plots, devices, and weapons of the enemy.
As we praise the Lord sadness, discouragement, worry, fear and confusion, disappear because they can’t remain in His presence.
As we praise the Lord weakness, bondage and oppression flee because they can’t remain where His power is. As we praise the Lord lack, thirst and hunger flee because they can’t remain where His provision is.
So praise the Lord today, praise Him always, and keep wielding swinging and thrusting through with this powerful two-edged sword.
