Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3 (NKJV)
The Christian life begins with what is termed in Scripture as to be born again. In Christ Jesus we have been born again to a living hope. This is not wishful thinking but a positive expectation of good.
As believers in Christ we have been born again to a positive expectation of good.
This living hope or positive expectation of good is founded on the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. This means that whatever we expect to see come to pass we have the assurance of it because the same God, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is able and available to do it.
Just as the Father gloriously raised Jesus from the dead we are certain that He’s able to bring us through any situation, challenge, or difficulty with victory. Since Jesus did not remain in the grave, neither are we going to be stuck, stranded, or stagnant anywhere regardless of how hopeless the conditions or contradictions shout.
Set your mind and heart on this ever living hope, the positive expectation of good that’s established in the resurrection of Jesus Christ from dead.
Always remind yourself that just as Jesus did not remain in the grave but rose up alive in great victory, you’re also not going to be held up in that quagmire, rather you already see yourself out of it with great triumph.
His tomb is empty, He’s not there! You’re also not there! You’re not among the dead! You’re among the living! You’re not among the weak, sick, defeated, cursed, rejected, poor, lost. You’re among the strong, healed, victorious, blessed, and wealthy because of your union with Christ. Happy Resurrection Sunday!
