Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. Isaiah 40:28 (NKJV)
He was and has lived from before the beginning and He lives forever. He never changes; He’s the same yesterday, today and remains forever.
This is the Everlasting God, from whom we originate and to whom we belong.
There’s no wear or tear in Him, no degeneration, no fading, no variation, no fluctuation in Him.
He’s constant, He’s steadfast. Everything about Him is everlasting:
He is our Everlasting Father. See- Isaiah 9:6. He’s our everlasting source.
He loves us with an everlasting love.
Jeremiah 31:3 (NKJV) The LORD has appeared of old to me, [saying:] ” Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you. He cares for us and watches over us everlastingly.
His mercies toward us are everlasting. Psalms 100:5 (NKJV) For the LORD [is] good; His mercy [is] everlasting, And His truth [endures] to all generations.
He has saved us with an Everlasting Salvation.
Isaiah 45:17 (NKJV) [But] Israel shall be saved by the LORD With an everlasting salvation; You shall not be ashamed or disgraced Forever and ever.
Hebrews 5:9 (NKJV) And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him.
We therefore can totally trust and rest assured in this God who is Everlasting and who does and gives only that which is everlasting.
For example the Salvation He’s given us is everlasting. It is not based on or subject to our inconsistent, wavering behavior. We are not saved until our next mistake or disobedience or sin. We are saved by the Lord with an eternal salvation. We are saved by Jesus Christ who with His own Blood obtained eternal Redemption for us, and who through the Eternal Spirit offered Himself to God without spot. See- Hebrews 9:12, 14.
This means our acceptance before and in God is everlasting, our relationship and fellowship with God is everlasting. Our assurance of life, peace, joy, victory and success is everlasting
