During the night Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Up! Leave my people, you and the Israelites! Go, worship the LORD as you have requested. Exodus 12:31 (NIV)
When God sent Moses to deliver the children of Israel from Egypt it looked like with every plague that hit Israel’s slave masters, the harder the heart of pharaoh king of Egypt became. But it was when pharaoh was most adamant that the final blow that led to Israel’s deliverance was administered – the death of the first born of every Egyptian. Exodus 12:29 (NIV) At midnight the LORD struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne, to the firstborn of the prisoner, who was in the dungeon, and the firstborn of all the livestock as well.
Israel’s deliverance happened at the moment when pharaoh was hell bent, not yielding to God’s command ” let my people go” Exodus 5:1
It also happened at midnight. Israel left Egypt in the middle of the night. The deliverance happened at the time of deep or extended darkness or gloom.
When you seem closest to stuck, stranded, defeat, disappointed, discouraged, always know that deliverance is closer to you than the air you breath. This is because the deliverer is always so near to you.
