A High Priest chosen from among men is appointed to act on behalf of men in things relating to God. Hebrews 5:1 It is God who chooses and appoints the High Priest. Hebrews 5:4 God chose Jesus Christ as our High Priest. Hebrews 5:5 Jesus is our High Priest forever after the manner and order of Melchizedek.Melchizedek means king of Righteousness. Righteousness is right standing with God. Jesus is our right standing with God forever.Melchizedek was King of Salem meaning King of Peace – Hebrews 7:1,2. Jesus is our peace with God forever. Through His sacrificial death on the Cross, we have peace with God forever.Every time the issue of your standing and relationship with God comes up don’t look at yourself or what you’ve done rather look to Jesus your High Priest forever. In Him you have been united with God and it’s a union that’s forever.Therefore, God’s presence, power, and provision in your life are forever.
