But my horn (emblem of excessive strength and stately grace) You have exalted like that of a wild ox; I am anointed with fresh oil. Psalm 92:10 (AMPC)
In the Old Testament when God called a certain person for a certain office or work, He anointed that person. When the anointing oil was poured on that person, the Spirit of God or the power of God would come upon them so they were supernaturally enabled to carry out God’s work. Under the New Covenant we don’t need physical oil to be poured on us. It’s the presence of the Holy Spirit in us and upon us that empowers us to live for and serve God. As we daily fellowship with the Lord in the Word, worship, and prayer the Holy Spirit continually anoints us with power or ability to live for and serve God.This is the fresh anointing necessary for each day and task before us.
