Your throne, O God, [is] forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness [is] the scepter of Your kingdom. Psalms 45:6 (NKJV)
When Jesus appeared to two disciples after rising from the dead, they could not recognize Him. Jesus made Himself known to them by showing Himself to them through the Scriptures that were written about Him – Luke 24:13-32. This is God’s most effective way of helping us see and know anyone or anything. This Psalm 45 talks about Jesus and in this verse 6 shared here in today’s devotion Jesus is addressed as God. In Hebrews 1:8-9 the writer quotes Psalm 45:6-7 and reveals that it was God the Father who called Jesus God. The Scriptures show and confirm that Jesus is God. What He said and did to save us is of divine authority and authenticity. We can confidently trust and rest in Him eternally.
